In fact, you can completely configure the secure process so that UltraCart never even appears! Q. Do I have to buy my certificate through Comodo?
A. Not at all. We chose Comodo as our integrated partner because of their ability to provide trusted certificates for the lowest possible prices. If you would prefer to utilize an alternate vendor, click the Configure 3rd Party SSL Certificates link at the bottom of this page.

Q. What other benefits do I get from a custom SSL certificate?
A. Aside from providing more personalized security, a custom SSL certificate can make your store appear to have its own custom cart instead of UltraCart. In fact, you can configure your branding to remove any trace that you use UltraCart. This can make you and your company appear large enough to have developed a custom cart.

Q. Will I have to make changes to my site?
A. No. UltraCart will correctly process any incoming links to the secure.ultracart.com address, and properly re-route them to your custom server address. You can, however, change the links so that they point directly to your custom server address.

Q. Will this allow me to place a "Secure Site" seal on my checkout?
A. Yes. All Comodo include a TrustLogo or Site Seal that will allow your customers to "point to verify" your secure checkout.

Q. What else will I need to do?
A. You will need to contact your ISP or web site hosting company and request that they add something called a "DNS CNAME" entry. Upon signup and allocation, an UltraCart support representative will contact you and provide the necessary information.

The cost of using the custom SSL certificate is $7.50/mo. Additionally, you will need to purchase a secure server certificate. We have partnered with Comodo to deliver the most cost effective trusted root SSL certificates. You can purchase a 1 year Comodo certificate for as little as $59 per year!
